How does the MP3/album sales module work?
The sales module was designed to make the sale of individual MP3 files, as well as entire albums as easy as possible.
After installing MyBandTheme, you will notice a new MyBandAlbums content type in your WordPress admin panel, where you can either create new albums, or modify existing albums.
Once on an album page, you will have the opportunity to upload:
- Your album cover
- A ZIP or RAR archive of all the songs on your album
- Samples of your songs that your website visitors will be able to listen to in MP3 format
- Full versions of your songs in MP3 format, in case someone wants to buy just a single song
Once the order button is clicked, your visitor is immediately taken to the PayPal payment processing page.
After completion of payment, your website will automatically send an email to the buyer with a download link, which will allow them to download the purchased MP3 file, or the entire album.
Protection of your music
Your music files are protected from unlicensed users, since the download links sent via email are randomly generated, and valid for only as long as you want them to be.
You can set the validity of download links to be limited based on number of days or number of downloads.
This is important and cannot be taken lightly by bands and artists selling their music on the Internet, since if you were to simply send a link to the file itself, the download email could be forwarded to an infinite amount of times, or the download link could be posted all over the Internet.
